ABC Pediatrics TeleHealth Consultations
Given the present situation with COVID-19 and an increased risk it poses to our more fragile patient population and our staff, we have elected to perform certain office "visits" using the HIPAA-secure Doximity Dialer video call with Google Meet as a backup. At present, this synchronous audio/visual platform has received a waiver from HIPAA certification for medical evaluations.
Scheduled Video Visits (SVV) will be performed as an outbound communication originating from our office. No inbound "calls" will be acknowledged.
If you have been called by our office, we will schedule a time to evaluate your child as we would regularly. If we try to reach you and you are not available after three (3) attempts over several minutes, we will cancel the appointment.
TeleHealth consultation will result in a medical claim that will be sent to your insurer*. Any co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles will apply to your child's account and be charged as per our payment policies.
Should it be determined that your child needs to come into our office for further evaluation and treatment that same day, then the SVV charges will not apply.
Google Meet is available on both Android and iOS. It's easy to set up and links to the apps are available below. Please make sure to give our office the phone number of the device where the app is installed.
* On March 17, 2020 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provided guidance for commercial insurers that allow us to bill for these services. Please be aware that member cost sharing and benefit plans apply (some plans do not include telehealth services).
